Privacy policy

Last updated:

This policy explains what personal data is processed when you visit insilicobench.com (the "site"), why, and what choices you have.

Who is responsible

The site is operated by Yassir Boulaamane (the "controller", "I"). Contact: [email protected].

Summary

Data processed when you visit

Server logs

Like any website, the hosting provider receives technical data when your browser requests a page: IP address, date and time, the page requested, referrer, and user-agent. This data is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). It is kept only as long as the provider's standard log retention. [Hosting provider: to be confirmed.]

Local storage

If you switch between light and dark mode, your choice is saved in your browser's localStorage under the key theme. It is never sent to a server. It is strictly necessary for a feature you requested, so no consent is required.

Browser tools

The calculators and checkers (for example the .mdp checker, the IC50→Ki converter and the Vina box generator) run entirely in JavaScript on your device. Files and text you paste into them are not uploaded, stored or logged.

Contacting me

If you email me, I use your address and message only to reply, and delete the correspondence when it is no longer needed (normally within 24 months). The contact form is not active at the moment.

Newsletter

The newsletter is not open yet, and no sign-up forms are active. When it launches, the email provider will be named here before any address is collected. The rules below will apply from then on.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

If advertising is enabled, this site will use Google AdSense, an advertising service provided by Google Ireland Limited (for users in the EEA, UK and Switzerland) and Google LLC (elsewhere). Ads are not shown on the interactive tool pages.

Consent in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland

For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, ads are served through a Google-certified consent management platform (CMP) that integrates with the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework. The CMP asks for your consent before any non-essential advertising cookies are set or personalised ads are shown. If you decline, Google may show non-personalised or limited ads, which use cookies only for purposes such as frequency capping, aggregated reporting and fraud prevention, as your choices allow. You can change or withdraw consent at any time using the privacy/consent link that the CMP adds to every page. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and the ePrivacy rules).

US state privacy laws

Where US state privacy laws apply (for example in California), you can opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising through the CMP's US privacy message, or by enabling Global Privacy Control in your browser.

International transfers

Google, the newsletter provider and some hosting providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Such transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data. You can also object to processing, ask for data portability, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

The site is aimed at university-level students and professionals. It is not directed at children under 16, and I do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If the way data is processed changes (for example, if analytics are added or the newsletter launches), I will update this page and the date above first.
